EXPERIENCE
CHANGE
MY APPROACH TO COUNSELLING
“Psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.”
(American Psychological Association)
Using a range of evidence based approaches I assist my clients in
developing life-changing habits that help them cope with life’s little (or big) obstacles.
My counselling sessions are designed to create a safe, relaxed and comfortable environment for my clients to discuss their personal issues and provide them with effective and practical strategies they can fall back on to handle whatever situation they find themselves in.
HOW I CAN HELP
THERAPY
As a registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist I have a wealth of experience providing assistance to people struggling with difficulties in their lives through to clients with complex mental health issues. I guide and support my clients every step of the way and help them implement a tailored strategy to develop new attitudes for coping with the complex matters in their lives.
In person counselling sessions take place in my consulting room located at Fairfield Wellness in Fairfield.
PSYCHO-ONCOLOGY
Having previously worked as a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist at the Austin Hospital's Olivia Newton-John Cancer, Wellness and Research Centre I have a great deal of experience providing comprehensive counselling and psychological services to cancer patients and their families, helping them through what is often an extremely difficult and stressful time for all of them.
I have an understanding that a cancer diagnosis impacts not only the individual but their entire family network.
TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS
With everything that's currently happening in the world, particularly here in Melbourne, in person counselling sessions aren't always possible. For this very situation I also offer Telehealth Appointments, either via video or phone call, for the ultimate in health and safety whilst the threat of
COVID-19 exists in our local community.
For Telehealth Appointments via video I use Coviu Telehealth software. It's private (none of the client's data is stored), secure (everything's encrypted), reliable and easy to use on any device.
SUPERVISION
If you're a fellow psychologist, or perhaps in the process of becoming registered, I may be able to assist with your supervision as a Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) approved supervisor.
WORKPLACE
MENTAL HEALTH
One of my interests is workplace mental health. In my role as a facilitator for the Black Dog Institute my primary task is to deliver mental health and wellbeing programs that promote workplace wellbeing, build organisational and personal resilience, reduce stigma and promote help seeking.
My role also involves providing education and training to GPs, psychologists, social workers and mental health professionals as well as assisting organisations carry out workplace mental health audits.
